Strong and vibrant alumni associations are hallmarks of world-class universities. With their gifts, UTAA donors benefit over 325,000 world-wide alumni, more than 50,000 students enrolled in our state-wide network of campuses, and thousands of talented faculty.
The UT Alumni Association is unique in that it does not require annual membership dues. Instead, we rely on the generosity of donors with a love and passion for the University of Tennessee. Private gifts are used to help UT fulfill its core missions of teaching, research, and public service while providing the resources needed to serve our alumni in meaningful and engaging ways that promote a lifelong relationship with their alma mater.
Ways you can help
Fund for the Future
The UTAA’s Fund for the Future is our annual fundraising campaign and serves as the financial foundation of the Alumni Association. Proceeds are allocated annually by the UTAA’s Board of Governors to underwrite over $700,000 in enrichment programs. The Fund for the Future also helps the UTAA meet the growing needs of our alumni base through expanded alumni chapter programming, enhanced communications, and expanded services for alumni such as career networking opportunities.

Endowment Opportunities
Each year, proceeds from the Fund for the Future are exhausted in order to underwrite the current needs of the Alumni Association and its enrichment programs. While this is critical to our operations, it does not provide financial stability for the Association. Today, the UTAA is focused on building a pool of endowed funds that will provide a consistent revenue stream to ensure our programs remain strong and viable for decades to come. Endowments can be established for as little as $25,000 and provide the UTAA income in perpetuity.
We are currently focused on building endowment support for:
- A career networking program to benefit all UT alumni
- Legacy scholarships to benefit children and grandchildren of UT alumni
- Out-of-state scholarships
- Faculty appreciation programs
- Legislative relations
